This summer, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana was proud to partner with Laborde Earles Injury Lawyers for their 4th Annual Project Backpack. Together, we helped provide more than 700 backpacks filled with school supplies to students across Central Louisiana and Lafayette Parish.

One of the most exciting parts of this year’s project was right here in Carencro. With Laborde Earles’ support, every student at Live Oak Elementary—over 500 children—received a brand-new backpack loaded with supplies to start the school year strong. The joy and excitement on the students’ faces reminded us of the power of community coming together to support kids.

Project Backpack also extended to Alexandria, where families gathered at the Laborde Earles Coliseum for a community pickup event. This allowed even more students to begin the school year prepared and confident.

At BBBS, we believe every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential. Having the right tools for school is a simple but powerful step toward building that future. We are grateful to Laborde Earles for inviting us to be part of such an impactful project and for their commitment to children across Acadiana and beyond.

Here’s to a successful school year for all the students who walked into the classroom ready to learn with the help of Project Backpack!
