Last week our team was thrilled to launch our second High School Big group of the school year, bringing together students from Comeaux High School and the first-grade classes at Middlebrook Elementary. The excitement from both the Bigs and the Littles made the kickoff feel extra special.

During their second session the groups dove into the holiday spirit by reading Christmas stories together and enjoying a festive coloring activity. The room was full of laughter, creativity, and the kind of easy connection that makes mentoring feel magical.

The matches are already growing strong. Ms. Fegenbush, the Comeaux High teacher leading the program, shared that her students talk about their Littles constantly! They are proud of the friendships they are building and eager for each weekly visit.

Programs like High School Bigs create space for younger students to be seen, supported, and encouraged. They also give older students a chance to build leadership skills and experience the joy of giving back.

Moments like these remind us why mentorship matters. Seeing Bigs and Littles bond so quickly and wholeheartedly brings a little more joy to the season and a lot of hope for the months ahead!
