ACTIVITY IDEA: Concerts at Couret

Join us for Zydeco Radio with special guest, LANE MACK on Friday, August 12th from 6:00 - 9:00pm at Couret Farms for Lafayette's newest concert series, Concerts at Couret, presented by Service Cadillac

Zydeco Radio, formed by local musicians, Billy McDonald, Bob Brahan, Charles Brent Jr., Seth Rung and Trent Oubre will kick off our third date of our Concerts at Couret series. The world seems like it’s becoming smaller – with the Internet harboring a million new bands in just about as many new genres. It was inevitable that even zydeco music would some day be influenced by the modern world, if only a little bit. This worthwhile experiment comes in the form of young Lafayette band Zydeco Radio, which has mixed old-school zydeco grooves with big ’70s rock riffs and New Orleans-style funk/blues since August of 2014. “We play a zydeco hybrid of some sort,” laughs bassist Seth Rung. “Zydeco’s at the root of it all, but we have a lot of rock, a lot of blues, a lot of energy.”

And, of course, Zydeco Radio's special guest, Lane Mack, born & raised in Cajun Country, knows a thing or two about letting the good times Rock and Roll! From fronting a garage rock band at the young age of seventeen Lane Mack has since gone on to grace the stage with numerous national recording artists such as Robert Randolph, Marc Broussard, and Royal Teeth as well as co-founding the band Sons of VooDoo along with his brother. Lane Mack is always challenging his versatility, from playing guitar with Lafayette Louisiana folk artist Sean Bruce one night to switching gears effortlessly to soul music with season 5 finalist of The Voice Ray Boudreaux. Lane Mack owns the stage with masterful guitar licks and a vocal range that surpasses many. After years of playing and writing Lane has finally stepped out on his own to show the world a brew he's been perfecting for years. With a catalog of all original songs, its a good thing he's brewed enough for everyone to taste.

Our friends with Cajun Cane Kettle Corn and Auntie's Bakery Box, along with some of your favorite local restaurants and spirits establishments will also be on hand to make sure your experience is second to none. So leave your ice chests at home, but don't leave home without your dancin' shoes!
